Sheffield United boss Chris Wilder says they won't be buying in January.
United have the option of two loan signings, one from abroad and one domestic, to take their tally to the maximum of three permitted.
And the Blades boss says he will be looking to utilise both of these to strengthen the side next month.
"There are not going to be any permanent transfers, they are going to be loans," he told Yorkshire Live.
"There have been discussions through agents and clubs.
"It's a fluid situation, it's not straightforward, but top of our priorities is to identify and then get the players over the line and get them in here to improve us as a group.
"I would like to use both loans. I will be putting my recommendations to the board and leaving it with them and hopefully we can do some business.
"There are a couple of positions I would like us to improve on, one you definitely know about (defender), to help us.
"There is still a lot of football to be played after January to get the results that we are after."
