Aston Villa defender Tyrone Mings apologised to teammates after being sent off in victory over Crystal Palace.
The experienced centre-back was sent off just before half-time against Palace following two tangles with Wilfried Zaha in quick succession.
For the second, Mings cynically blocked Zaha's path on the halfway line leaving referee Anthony Taylor with little choice but to brandish a yellow card.
It didn't matter though as 10-man Villa held firm and clinched an impressive 3-0 victory over Palace to move up to sixth in the Premier League table.
Shortly after full-time, he tweeted: “Performance of the season that second half; lads were absolutely unreal!! I put the team in a horrible situation and I take full responsibility for that, but what a response."
