Leicester City's squad will today visit their superb new training ground for the first time ahead of training there Christmas Eve for Saturday's visit by Manchester United.

The facility at Seagrave in north Leicestershire has been under construction for two years and was a key factor in Rodgers joining from Celtic in February last year.

The 185-acre complex includes 12 full-sized pitches, accommodation and a nine-hole golf course.

Plus elite sports science and medical facilities including a customised gym , hydrotherapy suite , altitude chambers and cryotherapy.

Rodgers, whose side are second in the Premier League, said: “We are moving into an elite venue which will be a great.

“It really underlines the owners' commitment to developing and improving players and people.

“In terms of recruitment of players it will really help too.

“We will always be in the market for a certain level of players.

“We don't have the £60m-£70m to spend on one player but we'll be able to bring in players who see the facility they can work in everyday.

“The recovery of players will also be helped by the facilities which are elite standard for sports science and medical.

“Recovery is such an important aspect of modern football so it will be of huge benefit."
