Former Manchester City midfielder Steve McManaman admits he's a fan of Rodri.
The former Real Madrid Champions League winner has likened the City player to Claude Makelele.
He told BT Sport: "I played in Real Madrid with a certain Claude Makélélé, who we obviously saw in the Premier League with Chelsea, and in the team we had several stars who got to be in the spotlight, but the most important player in the team was Makélélé.
"He rarely got the headlines and for me Rodri is exactly the same. It is often Rodri's ball that leads to something and he gets the best out of Riyad Mahrez and the rest. He not only plays sideways, he plays a lot forward as well."
