Former Real Madrid coach Vicente del Bosque was unimpressed by Joao Felix's strop last week.

The Portuguese forward threw a tantrum after being substituted by Diego Simeone in the second half of defeat at Real Madrid.

"Something I really don't like is the gestures that players make now when they get substituted," Del Bosque said in a chat with Eibar boss Jose Luis Mendilibar. "It makes me uneasy.

"The other day, Joao Felix's number went up: he threw his bottle, he didn't put his mask on, he didn't shake the coach's hand... It leaves a very bad taste.

"They don't realise that they're not affecting the coach, they're affecting their teammate [who has replaced them]. Can we not sort this?"

Del Bosque went on to offer his support for Simeone and his decision to take off Joao Felix.

"The press always look at the player's point of view, never the coach's," Del Bosque said. "If they've made the change, it's for a reason.

"In that game, [Joao Felix] hadn't touched the ball. What the coach was giving him was a rest before the next match. They're getting annoyed with themselves, aren't they?"
