Manchester City tried all they could to nick Marcus Rashford away from Manchester United as a junior, it has been revealed.

City twice attempted to sign Rashford and offered to buy the youngster a house but his allegiance was to Manchester United.

Robson Buckley, who played with Rashford in the United academy system, told The Athleticof how City tried to convince the now United superstar to move to the Blue side of the city.

He said, "City came in for him again when he was 13.

"They offered him a house and everything. But he was United through and through. He always wanted to play for United."
