Brighton goalkeeper Christian Walton wants to fight for his place at the club rather than go out on loan again.

Snce 2015 Walton has been out on loan at a number of EFL clubs in Bury, Plymouth, Luton, Southend, Wigan, and most recently last season at Blackburn.

He said: “Having made over 150 league appearances in my career, to show everyone what I'm capable of, it's not a massive priority of mine to go out on loan.

“Ideally I'd like to be fighting for a place here now.

“But if that's not to be and the right club came up, going out on loan is something I'd have to think seriously about and review with Ben and the club.

“I'm 25 now and want to be playing at the best level possible.

“While it's not gone to plan so far this season, that's football.

“I know in my head what I'm capable of achieving and I have enough confidence in my own ability to know I can definitely achieve something here at Brighton."
