Body of youth found in Beaufort river

BEAUFORT: The body of 17-year-old Andreanus Ola Kian was found in Padas River in Kg Melalugus, about a kilometre from where he was last seen, at 4pm, on Saturday. District Fire and Rescue Chief Mohammad Hasbollah Nenggok said the body was found floating and stuck in a tree.

He said the victim was taken ashore by Fire and Rescue personnel and his identity was confirmed by family members.

“A total of 12 personnel were involved in the search covering some 50 kilometres up to Weston, along with the K9 Dog Unit, assisted by the police and Civil Defence Force.
