Former Inter Milan and Manchester City defender Douglas Maicon has signed for Serie D Sona.
Maicon will turn 40 in July, but hasn't hung up his boots yet and is currently playing in Brazil for Villa Nova Atletico Clube.
“The deal is done, but he won't fly in for another three weeks or so," coach Marco Tommasoni told the Daily Verona Network.
“I think this will boost enthusiasm for all the staff and players, but we still have to evaluate his fitness levels.
"His CV speaks for itself and he brings both experience and character."
