Former Arsenal captain Gilberto Silva believes the team is missing Olivier Giroud.

Gilberto says former manager Arsene Wenger should never have let him leave for Chelsea.

Giroud was let go by Arsenal for what was reportedly a fairly small fee after falling out of favour under Wenger, despite scoring 105 goals in 253 games.

But he is enjoying somewhat of a renaissance after scoring four times in Chelsea's 4-0 win over Sevilla in the Champions League this week, and Silva believes he should never have been offloaded by the Gunners.

Gilberto said, “In my opinion, Aubameyang is not the best guy in the air, even though he's scored a few goals, he's not the best.

“It would be different if Arsenal still had Olivier Giroud who they had in the past."
