Manchester United assistant manager Mike Phelan has welcomed Kai Rooney to the club.
Wayne Rooney's son has followed in his father's footsteps by joining the club -and Phelan has responded to the news.
The Derby County interim head coach is United's all-time record goalscorer, and took to Twitter to confirm the news about his son.
He wrote: “Proud day. Kai signing for Man Utd. Keep up the hard work son."
Among the replies, Phelan was quick to send a playful message of his own to the youngster.
He sent back: “Not sure I can handle another. Keep grafting young un and listen to yer dad."
