B’fort landslide (due to heavy rain) leaves residents stranded

BEAUFORT: A landslide was reported to have occurred on a stretch heading towards Mile 62 early Friday. 

“Heavy rain since Thursday night caused the landslide, resulting in the road connection to be inaccessible to residents at Kg Batu 62,” said Village Head, Bibiana Beratus. 

Bibiana said the situation is very troublesome to residents who comprise farmers as well as government servants.

“The road is very important for residents who wish to go to Beaufort Town or to their workplace,” said Bibiana who earns a living as a trader.
