Marudu man injured after ginsuk accidentally discharged 

KOTA MARUDU: A man in Kg Pinatau, near here, was injured when a ginsuk (homemade gun) he was reloading accidentally discharged. 

Kota Marudu Police Chief Supt Mohd Izaan Abdullah said the 25-year-old was reported to be in stable condition.

He said they were alerted of the incident after a police report was lodged at 7.53pm on Wednesday.

Initial investigations showed the man was inserting marble pellets and matchsticks into the improvised firearm when the incident happened. 

The man was rushed to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Kota Kinabalu for treatment.

The case is being investigated under Section 37 of the Firearms Act 1960.
