AC Milan striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic admits Jose Mourinho wanted him to re-sign for Manchester United.

Ibrahimovic chose to leave United for LA Galaxy after recovering from a serious knee injury.

He recalled to Sky Italia: "Sometimes it's ego, not accepting that it's over. Why did I go to America? Because after the injury with United I didn't know if I could still be able to do the same things as before.

"I told Mourinho, don't call me, it's not the same anymore. After two years I felt alive, I told myself I'm going back to Europe. For that I signed six months, to see if I could stay there.

"One thing is vision and trust, if one enters the field and you start saying 'you can't do it'… You don't have to be convinced by others, you don't have to be influenced. I am realistic, it is all ego. I arrived here and I hadn't played for two months, it took time."
