Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema was on the scoreheet for victory over Granada on Wednesday night.
Benzema has the Pichichi in his sights. His goal against Granada on Wednesday moved him to the top of the goalscoring charts in LaLiga Santander alongside Iago Aspas and Gerard Moreno.
All three players have scored eight goals this season but Benzema is the only one of the three who doesn't take penalties for his team. Aspas and Gerard have scored four goals each from the spot this campaign.
Neither a penalty taker nor a freekick taker, most of Benzema's goals come from open play. In LaLiga Santander this season, he's scored six goals with his feet and two with his head.
The Frenchman's eight goals in LaLiga Santander go alongside his four in the 2020/21 Champions League. These four goals don't put him up there with Robert Lewandowski or Erling Haaland, but they do let him stand amongst Europe's elite.
