Manchester City fullback Yan Couto has explained committing to Barcelona before turning them down earlier this year.
The defender left Coritiba for City this past summer and is currently on-loan in Spain with Girona.
Couto told ESPN Brasil: "City had made a loan offer, I didn't like it very much. Barcelona said I was in the first team, so I agreed with Barcelona.
"When I was close to Barcelona, City came up with another proposal. Manchester City said I would get in the first team and be coached by Pep Guardiola.
"It was something that impressed me a lot, so I was very happy and I decided with my family to go to Manchester City."
