Abandoned transformer: Swift action of authorities hailed

Kota Kinabalu: Sabah Progressive Party (SAPP) Supreme Council Member Yong Yit Jee applauded the swift action of relevant authorities in addressing the issue of an abandoned transformer located near a drainage behind Peak Nam Tong Kindergarten here. 

Yong, a lawyer by profession, said the authorities had done their part to clear up the fallen dead branches and overgrown shrubs which posed danger to the environment, kindergarten kids and nearby residents. 

“The shrubs surrounding the transformer was cleared, the tree branches that were leaning onto power cables and structures had been taken down, only some minor work remains,” he said in a statement, Sunday.
