Mesut Ozil is stalling Arsenal's January plans for Inter Milan attacker Christian Eriksen.

Ozil has been frozen out at the Emirates Stadium having been left out of Mikel Arteta's squads for the Premier League and Europa League in the first half of the 2020-21 season.

The German has six months remaining on his £350,000-a-week deal and Gazzetta dello Sport says while Arsenal are interested in Eriksen, a move is not feasible without a resolution for their Ozil 'problem'.

Arsenal have made a dismal start to the Premier League season, down in 13th, and Ozil is eligible to be added to Arteta's squad from January.

Eriksen's preference is a return to the Premier League, strengthening Arsenal's position if they do plot to firm up their interest.
