Kota Kinabalu: The Youth and Sports Ministry may improve the training allowances for the state Sukma and Para sukma athletes with the extra funds available following the postponement of the Johor Sukma Games next year.

Its Minister Datuk Ellron Alfred Angin (pic)  said this on Wednesday in reply to a question raised by his predecessor Phoong Jin Zhe at the State Legislative Assembly on whether the Minsitry will consider the increments since there were no competitions and no winning incentives to give out this year due the the Covid-19 crisis.

“As ex Minister (Phoong), I guess he also knows that there is balance available…… I agreed to that and we will work out the amount to share with the athletes,” he said.
