Sabahan architect goes ‘botak’ for a good cause

Kota Kinabalu: It’s not easy to part with one’s hair but Sabahan architect Tressie Yap Chui Kie has sacrificed her “crowning glory” for a good cause.

Dubbed BotakHeadChallenge: TressieBotakKie, her aim is to raise RM20,000 for her Botak4Sabah Fund for initiatives in support of frontliners and families in dire need of help amid the Covid-19 pandemic in the State.

Enterprising Yap, who has been practising architecture for 23 years, unhesitantly shaved her head on Nov 28, fulfilling her vow to go bald when she had raised RM10,000 (out of the RM20,000).

Her humble budget of RM20,000 covers Mission 1 and Mission 2.
