Arsenal are seriously preparing a move for Barcelona prospect Riqui Puig.
The Athletic reports Arsenal have been looking at a number of options to address their creative issues.
Dominik Szoboszlai, of Salzburg, was of interest but the Hungarian has already agreed a move to RB Leipzig in January, while the report also claims a move for Lyon's Houssem Aouar in January is unlikely.
Instead, Puig could be the most likely option, with the 21-year-old falling out of favour with Barcelona boss Ronald Koeman.
The report notes that Arsenal's international scouting network watched Puig on multiple occasions before the club dispensed with the majority of their scouts over the summer.
Puig is expected to be available on loan next month and Leeds United have already been linked with midfielder.
