Proposal to bar criminals from entering Sabah

Kota Kinabalu: Sabah police will propose to blacklist and prevent non-Sabahan individuals with criminal records, including those detained under the Prevention of Crime Act (Poca), from entering the State.

State Police Commissioner Datuk Hazani Ghazali said the proposal would be discussed with the State Government and refined before implementation.

He said the State has its own immigration powers to blacklist or expel individuals, especially immigrants who have documents such as IMM3 who have criminal records.

“This suggestion will be forwarded and discussed with the State Government in the near future,” he said at a press conference after the handing over two new escort vehicles for the Head of State (TYT) at the Sabah Police Contingent (IPK) headquarters in Kepayan, here, Tuesday.
