'Bridge a new deal for Labuan'

LABUAN: Federal Territories Minister Tan Sri Annuar Musa said the proposed Labuan-Menumbok bridge, when become a reality will set the foundation of new perspective and existing development plans for Labuan will have to be reviewed to tap the opportunities generated by the “game changer”.

He said as the bridge would offer a “new deal” for Labuan, new methods have to be in place  for the future development of the island.

He also said a working paper on the bridge had been approved by the Cabinet. Earlier, in September, he had remarked that the Request for Proposal (RFP) on the mega project would be ready soon. The project is being undertaken on a Private Finance Initiative (PFI).

He said the accepted proposed concept of the bridge would give a clearer view on the methods that would be needed for the economic gains.
