KLANG, Dec 23 — Nearly 2,000 residents around Klang underwent the free Covid-19 Community Screening organised by the Selangor government in collaboration with the Selcare Clinic today.
Pandamaran assemblyman Tony Leong Tuck Chee said the programme involved communities from Taman Bayu Perdana, Prima Bayu Apartment, Bayu Villa Apartment, Bandar Bukit Tinggi and Taman Sri Andalas.
“We were informed that even residents from other areas nearby came and allowed to do so but need to register using the SELangkah (Step In, Safely) system application first.
“The screening this uses the antigen rapid test kit (RTK-Ag) and the results could be known faster by health workers,” he said after visiting the screening location at Jalan Batu Unjur 3A, Taman Bayu Perdana here today.
Meanwhile, he urged private clinics offering the service to update the results of customer screening samples into the Public Health Lab Information System (Simka).
Leong said the move is important to facilitate the Health Ministry (MOH) to detect individuals who are infected with the virus and take further action.
“Many residents complained that after being tested positive through the screening, they were not taken immediately to the hospital for treatment and some even had to wait until four days.
“So, I asked the private clinic involved to enter the results in Simka and contact the MOH to get the patients to the hospital,” he said.
