Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp admits Gerard Houllier was always in contact during his time in charge.

Former Reds manager Houllier passed away yesterday at the age of 73.

Speaking ahead of tomorrow's clash with Tottenham at Anfield, Klopp was asked about his memories of Houllier: "Only the best. I met him a few times since I've been at Liverpool, he text a lot. He was a very supportive man, a great coach and an even better human being.

"Very warm personality and a big miss for his family, friends and for Liverpool. A true legend of this club.

"He would have loved to see our new training ground because he was very influential in the rebuild and modernising of Melwood.

"During construction work here we were in contact and he asked me about it. He would have loved to have seen it. Tomorrow I am pretty sure our supporters will pay tribute to in an appropriate way."
