Kota Kinabalu: A 34-year-old private van driver, who was charged with sexually abusing a 14-year-old boy, was ordered to enter his defence.Sessions Court Judge Elsie Primus, Wednesday, held that the court found that the prosecution had proved a prima facie case against the accused, Agoes Han Suin. The court set Dec 17-18 for Agoes’ defence.

Earlier, counsel Al Hafidz Lokman informed the court that the defence would be calling three witnesses. Agoes had on July 23, 2018 claimed trial to the charge under Section 14(d) of the Sexual Offences against Children Act 2017. He allegedly committed the offence by inserting his finger into the boy’s anus at 7.30am on Dec 16, 2017 at a house in Kota Belud.

Agoes is facing a jail term of up to 20 years and whipping, if convicted. Deputy Public Prosecutor Mas Izzaty Lokman prosecuted. Agoes is currently released on court bail.
