Kuala Lumpur: The Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO) for Selangor, Kuala Lumpur, Sabah and several areas in other states has been extended by two weeks to Jan 14, in view of a rise in Covid-19 cases nationwide. The CMCO, which was to end on Dec 31, was agreed to by the government today, said Senior Minister (Security Cluster) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob. "Therefore, the National Security Council (NSC) decided that the CMCO in Selangor and Kuala Lumpur would be extended from Jan 1 to Jan 14, 2021," he said. Sabah, Ismail Sabri said, recorded 3,243 new Covid-19 cases in the last two weeks, bringing the infection tally to 36,074 as of Dec 27. The ministry, he added, also noted an increase of positive cases in the state.
