Yadim targets to distribute food aid to 500 in Kunak

KUNAK: Yayasan Dakwah Islamiyah Malaysia (Yadim) is targeting to distribute food baskets to 500 recipients in the district affected by the Covid-19 pandemic.

Sabah Yadim Director Samin Ongki said the recipients would include orphans, people with disabilities, single mothers and individuals/families of chronic patients.

“So far, we have managed to collect 240 food baskets to be handed over to recipients in the district. Our target is to assist 500 people,” he said after launching the Food Basket Donation Programme, organised by Yadim Sabah in collaboration with SMKA Limauan Sabah Alumni, Sabah Islamic Welfare Organisation (Perkis) Kunak and District Education Office (PPD), here.

In his speech earlier, Samin said the distribution of food aid to the local community was irrespective of race or religious background because they all deserved help.
