Kota Kinabalu: Social activities and socialising will be one of the first things the State Government will need to reassess if the number of Covid-19 positive cases continue to rise in Sabah.

State Local Government and Housing Minister, Datuk Seri Masidi Manjun (pic) who is also the State’s official Covid-19 spokesperson said this after noting that nearly 60 per cent of new cases in Sabah are from community infections and close contacts.

“I am a bit concerned that the statistic may to a certain extent rise the next few days and I hope that is the last one, but we cannot discount a higher number because by then the symptoms for those who had a nice time during the New Year’s Eve parties would certainly appear if a person who is Covid-19 positive had attended such gatherings.
