Manchester City star Ilkay Gundogan admits he is very proud to wear the no.8 shirt at the club.
Gundogan managed two goals in a superb five star performance from City, as they ran away 5-0 winners against West Brom in the Premier League.
The German spoke about wearing the same number on his back as City legend Colin Bell, who recently passed away.
"I feel proud to wear his number and of course I try to represent it as best as possible on the pitch," he said, per the club website.
"If it keeps going as well as today, it makes me even more proud to wear this number."
Asked about the reasons for his great form, he added: "I don't know to be honest! There's not really a secret, I just try to be in the right spaces at the right moments.
"I've played a more offensive role in recent weeks and I try to make the right decisions when I get the chance close to the opposition box. I try to do my best."
