PSG's Qatari owners are going cold on signing Barcelona superstar Lionel Messi.

That's according to Gazzetta dello Sport, which are reporting the Qataris are reluctant to commit to the finances required to sign the Argentine this summer.

Messi's current deal expires in June, so leaving him currently free to commit to a pre-contract agreement with any foreign club.

Howvever, it's suggested PSG have been rocked by Europe's stadium lockout over the past year and the finances just aren't available to make the deal happen.

The only solution would be a massive cash injection from the Qataris, though that would bring Financial Fair Play laws into the equation.
