Kota Kinabalu: Police have arrested a woman, believed to be mentally unsound, for allegedly damaging several vehicles at Plaza 333, here, on Saturday.

In a 0.37-second video that went viral, a woman clad in red “baju kurung” was seen hitting the front bonnet of a parked car several times using a knife while talking to herself before the owner came and left the place.

Penampang Police Chief DSP Mohd Haris Ibrahim said they received a report related to the video at 7.42pm on Saturday.

“Acting on the information, a Penampang police Mobile Patrol Vehicle (MPV) team arrested the woman suspect,” she said, adding three victims were identified but only two of them lodged a report.

“However, all the victims did not want to continue action against the woman because of her mental health status and lodged a report for insurance claim purposes.

“The woman has been referred to Mesra Bukit Padang Hospital, Kota Kinabalu for further examination,” he said, Sunday.
