Wong heads Labuan Chamber for 4th term

LABUAN: Vocal chairman of the Labuan Chamber of Commerce Wong Kii Yii was elected unopposed to serve a fourth term making him one of the longest serving chamber heads.

Wong who had held the position for nine years before said the chamber will continue to play an effective role as a channel of communication between the business community and government agencies.

“I hope members would continue to provide feedback on business-related matters so that they could be brought to the attention of the relevant agency and a solution found,” he said.

Other elected were: Arthur Kong Ting Fong (Deputy Chairman); Dato Robert Seah Kiat Chong (1st vice); Cheng Cho Chong (2nd vice); Josef Wong Ming Chong (3rd vice); Eric Wong Siew Yee (4th vice); Edward Kong Chang Sin (Secretary-General) and Yew Thuan Keong (hon. Treasures).

Members assigned with portfolios: Teo Chee Wang (chairman of chamber committee), Lee Kuat Khim (public relations and complaints), Roger Foo Shiang Tat (education), Chung Pau Chui (welfare), Kong Ken Fong (medium enterprises and human resources), Chia Sia Theng (government affairs), Bob Soon Yu Tai (culture and entertainment), Lee Mee Huat (IT) and three ordinary committee members – Tan Boon Hong, Yap Wee Chyuan and Tan Soon Kiat.
