Newcastle United striker Callum Wilson was relieved after victory at Everton.

Wilson struck both goals for the 2-0 win.

After the game, he said: "I think it's been a long time coming.

"We needed to pull our fingers out, to be honest. We've shown glimpses, but today everything came together.

"We've not been picking up points.

"We've had four or five straight defeats, which is not nice as a footballer, but today we played well as a team and got the result."

Looking back on his missed chances, he told BT Sports: "I got a brace today, but I'm disappointed I didn't get a hat-trick."
