Sead Kolasinac has accepted a greater than 50 per cent pay-cut to return to Schalke.
The Arsenal fullback has signed for Schalke on-loan to the end of this season.
On €9m-a-year at Arsenal, Kolasinac will earn €2m from his six months with S04, where he is expected to sign permanently - if they stay up.
There have been calls for Kolasinac to replace Omar Mascarell as captain at S04.
However, it's been agreed for the Spaniard to hold onto the armband so to avoid heightened expectations around Kolasinac's return.
