Kota Kinabalu: The setting up of an integrity unit, with the collaboration of Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC), in each State administration is capable of improving the quality of government services for the people. Community Development and People’s Wellbeing Minister, Shahelmey Yahya, said the setting up of the said unit is timely in order to realise the vision of providing a more efficient and corruption-free services in future. “Therefore, I fully support the efforts by the State and Federal Governments to achieve the aspiration for Malaysia to be recognised for its integrity and not corruption.
“The Government is committed in preventing and fighting corruption and power abuse. “The setting up of an integrity unit at the ministry level can serve as a mechanism to curb corrupt practises,” he said when officiating at the virtual launching of the 2021 Anti-Corruption Plan.
