Everton head of academy coaching John Ebbrell admits Ellis Sims could be on the move this month.
The 20-year-old was among the substitutes when Carlo Ancelotti's senior side took on Rotherham United in the FA Cup earlier this month, but he is still yet to make his debut for the first team.
Ebbrell told the Liverpool Echo: "Yeah quite possibly, but a club has to come in for him for that to happen.
"I don't know, that's above my level, but I would imagine there's a good chance he'll leave in January to get some experience.
"Most January windows I've been involved in, two or three players leave and go on to gain experience at a competitive level.
"That may well happen again."
