Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp admitted the half time whistle came at a strange moment in their game against Manchester United.

The Reds had to settle for a 0-0 draw against their bitter rivals at home.

Sadio Mane was about to race onto a through ball down the middle of the field right before halftime, but the referee Paul Tierney blew his whistle.

Klopp seemed upset at the time, and felt the game should have continued for that passage of play.

Asked about the incident after the game, Klopp told Sky Sports: "We weren't happy with that, as you can imagine. (It was) strange, very strange.

"I think he's through on goal if he doesn't blow.

"We were frustrated at half-time but still plenty of time for us to score the goal, but again lacked that quality in the last bit."
