Liverpool have expressed interest in West Ham defender Issa Diop.
Jurgen Klopp is desperate to sign a centre-half before Monday's 11pm transfer deadline.
The Athletic says Liverpool have enquired about Diop already.
West Ham are reluctant to sanction a loan move as things stand due to Liverpool being a genuine direct rival right now, given Moyes' men can jump back above them into fourth place with a victory this weekend.
However, Klopp's side could persuade the east Londoners to do business if a move came with an obligation to buy.
West Ham would demand a fee in excess of £20m in the summer if Diop was to go to Merseyside on loan until the end of the season.
