Leicester City climbed to second in the Premier League as they won a keenly contested encounter with fellow top-four hopefuls Southampton at King Power Stadium.
James Maddison fired in from a tight angle after 37 minutes before Harvey Barnes added a second deep into second-half stoppage-time.
Afterwards, Foxes manager Brendan Rodgers said, "A great win for us. The first 25 minutes I thought we were socially distancing, we didn't get within two metres of them.
"We were too passive, not aggressive enough which wasn't like us. But then we started to press the game better and it allowed us to sustain attacks more.
"Second half we were much better and should have scored more than two goals. At the same time we defended well."
He added, "We were outstanding second half and should have scored more goals. We did the dirty work much better and Harvey Barnes showed again that he is a finisher now."
