Amanda Staveley's consortium is again eyeing a move for Newcastle United.
The Evening Chronicle says the group are growing "cautiously optimistic" that the club's court battle with the Premier League can result in a takeover breakthrough.
Mike Ashley wants full transparency on why the Premier League did not push through the £340million bid from Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund, Amanda Staveley and the Reuben brothers.
The main factor in the takeover's collapse appeared to be the objection of such a deal fro Qatar-based beIN Sports who were furious over their channel being broadcasted illegally and beaming Premier League action around the country via piracy.
In the aftermath of the takeover not going through, Saudi Arabia then banned beIN Sports being broadcasted around the Kingdom.
And while beIN Sports is still not back up and running in Saudi Arabia the slow process of getting it restored is said to be under way in the Middle East.
Were that to happen, and relations between Saudia Arabia and Qatar begin to thaw, it would put the Premier League in an easier position to reconsider the sale.
