West Ham United have failed with an offer for Sevilla striker Luuk de Jong.
The Dutchman has been the subject of a €30m bid from the Irons.
But the Athletic says Sevilla management have rejected the cash proposal.
West Ham moved for De Jong after selling Sebastien Haller to Ajax at the beginning of the month.
But their bid of €25m up front plus €5m in bonuses was immediately thrown out by the LaLiga outfit.
