Newcastle United are pushing Arsenal to release Joe Willock for loan.

The 21-year-old midfielder was on the bench against Manchester United on Saturday and is eager to play.

Willock has spent most of his Arsenal career being used as a substitute, starting only two Premier League games out of seven appearances this season.

The Daily Mail says Willock is top of Steve Bruce's list though Newcastle also want Hamza Choudhury from Leicester and have asked about Olivier Ntcham at Celtic as they try to add at least two loans before Monday's deadline.

Earlier this month Arsenal were reportedly considering using Willock as a makeweight in a deal to bring Norwich City's creative midfielder Emiliano Buendia to the Emirates.
