Newcastle United boss Steve Bruce accepts his job is on the line.

The Magpies head for Everton on Saturday having won none of their last nine Premier League games and lost the last five, but with owner Mike Ashley ready to give the 60-year-old more time.

Asked if he was bullet-proof, Bruce replied: "I wouldn't expect to be bullet-proof, no."

Asked further if he had been given assurances over his future, he replied: "No, I don't need any assurances.

"Look, we're in the Premier League, we understand that we're judged on results and our results haven't been good enough at the minute."
