Kota Kinabalu: Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor (pic) said restoration of good working relationship with the federal government following the takeover by Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) last September not only helped solve various problems but benefitted the state and the people.

 Chief among them is the 5 per cent sales tax from Petronas amounting to RM1.2 billion effective this year which would be used to develop the state.

 “If we want to move forward and ensure our people progress, we have to work with the federal government ... the federal government is also formed by the state of Sabah with Sabahans, Sabah leaders and government officials from Sabah involved in the federal government.

  “We need the help of the federal government, I do not like confrontation, we will be prudent in getting our rights ... as Sabahans we have the right to protection and obtain what we should get from federal,” he said, on the occasion of his 100th day in office today (Wednesday).
