Azizah happy 30pc of councillors are women

Kota Kinabalu: Sabah Bersatu Srikandi Chief, Datuk Azizah Mohd Dun (pic), thanked the Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) State Government for appreciating women by giving the opportunity for 30 per cent women appointments as a district councillor.  

She said this shows the State Government appreciates and recognises the role and contributions of women in administration, including at the district council-level. 

The Beaufort Member of Parliament also urged the State leadership to continue giving space to women to contribute in the policy-making process, including placement in government agencies.

“As had been targeted and fought for before this, we want the present government to increase women involvement as policy-maker to 30 per cent.
