Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp says the club will only make a signing if it is the 'right player'.
The Reds centre-back crisis remains a problem as Fabinho missed Thursday's win over Spurs, with Joel Matip also exiting the match at half-time.
Asked about signing another centre-back, Klopp said: "You can imagine we think about everything [with transfers].
"I am not picky but we need to find the right player. We have some. Not a lot.
"If you have a centre-half available at a reasonable price and the quality we need, then you can send me a message and I will go for it.
"We cannot just bring a body in. The situation is unbelievably strange."
When asked about Matip, Klopp continued: "It looks like something serious."
