Newcastle boss Steve Bruce had suggested he would be interested in signing Leicester midfielder Hamza Choudhury on loan.
Foxes boss Brendan Rodgers said: "I've spoken to Steve on Hamza. I think for me it's a case of us needing a more attacking player in. That's something if we can do that, that could give a possibility of Hamza going out. We can't afford to lose anyone."
