Barcelona presidential candidate Joan Laporta has announced there will be no January deal for Eric Garcia.
Off contract in June, it was expected Barca would cough up a fee of €5m plus €5m in bonuses to Manchester City to bring Garcia back to his old club this month.
However, Laporta has stated he and his fellow candidates Victor Font and Toni Freixa are in disagreement over the deal - so the youngster won't be arriving until June.
He said, "We cannot give permission to the board to make decisions.
"We concluded that if it is a player who ends his contract, we have to wait. Now we'd have to pay the transfer fee plus the player's salary."
