It will be 'impossible' for Liverpool to sign RB Leipzig defender Dayot Upamecano this month, transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has claimed.
The 22-year-old has been linked with a move to Liverpool, Manchester United and Arsenal.
RB Leipzig chief Oliver Mintzlaff admitted this week that the club would continue to sell their top players.
But Romano believes Liverpool would not be able to afford paying £60m for the talented Frenchman.
"Liverpool are looking for opportunities [to sign a CB] – if something arrives, they will be ready to sign a new player," Romano told Sky Sports.
"But spending £60m/£70m on players like Upamecano is absolutely impossible in this window."
